Blue Flower Bell Skirt
The bell skirt is a 1950s wardrobe classic. This version was inspired by the Butterwick B5882 dress I made earlier, a project so fun and functional that I wanted a standalone skirt with the same charm. The waistband closes with a simple tie, offering comfortable size adjustability in a garment made from non‑stretch cotton fabric.
The 1950s Silhouette in Focus
Silhouettes play a major role in fashion across every decade. The 1950s are defined by their tea‑length, full skirts paired with neatly fitted tops—a look that feels playful, stylish,
and intentionally composed in an era before stretch fabrics were common. These voluminous skirts became a signature of the decade, shaping both its aesthetic and its cultural identity.
