The Mint Dress: An Homage to Childhood Nostalgia

Growing up in the early 2000s meant I was deeply inspired by the fashion of the decade but rarely able to wear it myself. Media played a huge role in sparking my love for clothing and sewing, so taking on a project that paid homage to that era felt especially meaningful. That’s how the Mint Dress came to be. It also became another personal challenge to design and create a garment with very limited fabric resources. The body of the dress is made from soft jersey knit, and the straps are crafted from a non-stretch acrylic fabric, tying the whole piece back to its original inspiration.
