Book Sleeves for Notebooks and Novels

Growing up, I loved carrying a book with me wherever I went, and that habit followed me well into adulthood. I wanted a way to transport my books and notebooks in a more organized, protected manner, which led me to make a few book sleeves. Made from two layers of cotton, each sleeve closes with braided elastic and a button to keep larger books secure, and includes a small front pocket for pens. A simple project with a wonderfully functional purpose, it quickly became the perfect solution.

Sewing and the Connection Between Physical Media

I’ve long believed in the value of physical media. Technology has its advantages, of course, but there’s something irreplaceable about holding the books you’ve read, the projects you’ve created, and the notes you’ve written. It takes up space, yet it tells

the story of a life lived—something digital files can’t quite replicate. Out of sight often means out of mind. Simple projects like the book sleeves help me continue enjoying physical media while staying grounded in everyday life.
