Vintage 1940s Dress

This dress was a very fun accident—one of those rare moments when a fabric and a pattern appear while thrifting and happen to match perfectly. I fell in love instantly and knew I needed to bring the design to life with the materials so effortlessly placed in front of me.

Worthless or Hidden Treasure

I come across vintage patterns fairly often while thrifting, and it always feels like a small victory when I do. Modern patterns can easily range from ten to thirty dollars depending on their complexity, but thrifted ones are usually closer to two. They can be harder to understand, yet the information

they contain is so valuable—and the designs so charming—that I’m happy to grade them to my size and work through the trickier instructions. Most people would simply throw this knowledge away, but I believe it’s worth preserving, studying, experimenting with, and sharing with the world.
